We are happy you are here. La Familia’s Catechesis has been creating resources for families for many years, and now this blog will be a place where everything comes together in one warm and simple space. We used to have a blog, but life, work, and projects carried us in many directions. Today we begin again with a fresh start and a clear purpose. We want to support families, catechists, and anyone who wants to live their faith in a more intentional and joyful way.
Our mission is rooted in everyday faith. We honor the traditions of our families and our Mexican Catholic heritage. We create games, devotion kits, prayers, and activities that help parents teach the faith with confidence and love. We care deeply about the faith of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren, and we believe in giving adults the tools to pass on our Catholic traditions in ways that feel natural, joyful, and rooted in home life. We believe that faith is strongest when it is lived at home and shared between generations.
In this blog you will find four main kinds of posts. Lo Cotidiano will focus on prayers, family rituals, and the small moments that shape our days. Traditions will highlight feast days, seasonal practices, and the beauty of our culture. Saints will feature stories, biographies, activities, and beautiful illustrations to share with children. La Cocina de las Abuelitas will share recipes, memories, and kitchen wisdom that brings faith to the table, reminding us how often children learn through food, stories, and the rhythm of family life.
Each week you can expect something new, gentle, and practical. Some posts will link to free downloads. Others will connect you to new resources or simple at-home activities. Our hope is that these reflections inspire you to slow down, reflect, and enjoy your life of faith one day at a time, especially with the little ones who are watching, learning, and growing in your care.
Family Activity
As a family, share one way you already live your faith at home. Maybe you light a candle during dinner, keep a small altar, pray together before bed, or talk about the saints you love. Invite your children or grandchildren to add their own ideas.
Write it on a small card and place it somewhere you can see. Let it remind you that God is present in the simple moments of each day.
