GRATITUDE

ree

Instilling gratitude in our children is one of the great spiritual lessons we can teach them.

When we are grateful, our eyes are opened to see the limitless and beautiful graces and gifts we daily receive from God. They seem to surround us all day.

Just to say, “Thank you God,” is the beginning of a special way to pray each day, but especially at night.

In this way, we become prepared for new blessing in a new day.

Being grateful helps us relate with God with our hearts and energizes us to cultivate a profound appreciation for each other, for life, for creation, for friends, for food, for everything God gives us as a reminder of his love for us.

Giving thanks transforms our hearts to be ready to receive gifts and blessings and helps us overcome disappointments, failures, and frustrations we face in life. Filled with gratitude, we become more capable to see the hand of God sustaining us with graces beyond any challenges of the day.

Psalm 100 says: Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

It is very spiritually important that the family gather often to give thanks together and allow even more presence of God in the life of the family. God is always good to us, and our gratitude to God fills us with his love and graces.
