Family & Culture

Faith begins at home. In la familia, we learn to pray, to celebrate, to cook, and to care for one another. Our stories, traditions, and daily practices help children and adults experience God’s love in everyday life. This section invites families to explore creative ways to live their faith through story, food, art, and the wisdom of our ancestors.

Launching October 2025

La Cocina de las Abuelitas

Cooking is one of the most beautiful ways families share love and faith. In La Cocina de las Abuelitas, every recipe tells a story of gratitude, tradition, and care. These dishes remind us that preparing and sharing food is more than a daily task; it is a sacred act that nourishes both the body and the soul, bringing family and faith to the table.

Lupita & Juan Diego

The Lupita & Juan Diego series helps children see their own faith and culture reflected in the stories they read and the songs they sing. These stories celebrate family, love, and God’s presence in everyday life. Each book and activity invites children to grow in faith through imagination, joy, and connection to their Mexican Catholic heritage.

ABOUT US >

La Familia’s Catechesis, a 501(c)3 nonprofit in Texas, is dedicated to preserving and sharing Mexican-American Catholic traditions. Our mission is to support families and parishes in embracing their cultural heritage through resources like books, games, and recipes, fostering meaningful connections between faith and culture.

We aim to provide families with engaging catechetical materials that highlight rituals, food, and faith practices. Our goal is to ensure these rich traditions are passed down, even as family structures and communities change.
