Prayer is at the heart of La Familia

Prayer is at the heart of family life. Through everyday practices in lo cotidiano, families can discover gratitude, reflect with Scripture, and experience prayer in ways that connect Catholic faith, culture, and daily life. In these simple yet sacred moments, prayer becomes not just words we say but a way of living that roots us in God’s presence and draws us closer as family and community.

All Saints Day

All Saints Day is a moment of prayerful remembrance, when we honor the holy women and men who show us how to live the Gospel in daily life. Their witness invites families to draw closer to God, to seek strength in prayer, and to remember that we are part of a great communion of faith that stretches across time and place.

Dia De Los Muertos

Día de los Muertos is a sacred time of prayer and memory, when families gather to celebrate the lives of loved ones who have gone before us. Rooted in Catholic faith and Mexican tradition, it is a living expression of hope in the resurrection and of love that endures beyond death. Through prayer, altars, and family gatherings, we remember that God’s presence accompanies us in life and in eternity.

ABOUT US >

La Familia’s Catechesis, a 501(c)3 nonprofit in Texas, is dedicated to preserving and sharing Mexican-American Catholic traditions. Our mission is to support families and parishes in embracing their cultural heritage through resources like books, games, and recipes, fostering meaningful connections between faith and culture.

We aim to provide families with engaging catechetical materials that highlight rituals, food, and faith practices. Our goal is to ensure these rich traditions are passed down, even as family structures and communities change.
